I'd tell that person to be confident for the interview, or at least fake it.

They will base a lot of what they think about you on what they see in the first few seconds. Exude an air of confidence from the minute you meet them, even if it makes you uncomfortable.

The best interview advice I remember is to imagine the interviewer sitting on the crapper... It makes them more human and less scarey!
