  • I have seen this phenomenon once in my life while watching the sunset at South Carlsbad State Beach. It is difficult to observe because the horizon has to be extremely regular (e.g. the surface of the ocean) and there can be *NO* fog/dust/clouds to obscure the sun. For a brief moment, what's left of the sun's disk DOES turn a bright emerald Star-Wars-laser-beam green. It also makes for some kick-a** beer....;-D... http://www.greenflashbrew.com/
