That was NOT my first reaction. I think the staff should be very happy that they were not within reach at the time. lol

yeah...I answered this...and it was essentially babbling idiocy. So this is the edited version. Good question, Jodie! No...I don't have an answer, but it's a good question, nonetheless.

I am sure they don't believe people react with positivity to that message - but they sure can't write "ya twit! that one's been asked already - sure our search functions aren't that great - but sheesh!". The poor buggers have to be a little diplomatic :)

Probably. It is far more polite than "It would be greatly appreciated if you'd pull your head out and check for duplicates before asking another question."

The first few times I saw that , I was excited until I opened my e-mail , now I don't open them anymore + 5

They must! I just received a whole slew of these emails. I'm thinking, "We're sorry. Someone has already asked this question:( Thanks for trying, though." is a little more in tune with the average Answerbagger's psyche.

Yup...isn't that great? I've had just a few that were dupes. Today after finally getting emails again, I got one of those "good news" emails. Well, it was from one last month, so...I already knew about it. The first time I got one and then opened it, I thought...are they being sarcastic? LOL!
