This is touchy as some people might say that their "god" told them to kill, which would be considered a one way ticket to their "heaven" in their "religion." No, I would not kill to defend my God. I don't think that's how my God wants me to go about defending Him. Good question.
-
No I wouldn't. Not only would my God not want me to, I would be breaking his laws in doing so. My God does not need me to defend Him.
-
No, I don't believe in god/religion, and if I did, for SURE I would realize that not everyone has to believe what I do. I would DEFEND MYSELF if someone tried to kill me, but I would not outwardly physically attack someone for having a different belief. That's just me defending my life- not because of any religion. That's just stupid and silly.
-
If you count love and the good of humanity god, then yes, I'd die for that.
-
No, it is unethical and is aggainst what God says (Not to kill people!) Be wise! If you will, you will be taken to the dark side!
-
I would not kill to defend some mystical deity that people so willingly kill for. The inablility of the religious masses to decide on who god really is has caused nothing but killing since time began..according to which big book of rules you choose to follow. I cannot kill for something I cannot believe in :)

No, He doesn't need any help defending Himself, nor would He want me to kill needlessly. If He has attackers, they will be dealt with as He sees fit. If He, Himself, asks me to defend Him, I will take that as a test of faith and respond the best I can, but I don't imagine any possibility of that occurring. It would be such an unusual calling that I would have to seek counsel to confirm that it is not the Adversary trying to trick me into committing a heinous sin. I would be cautious and slow to act.

The question seems backwards to me. God does not need my defense, just my faith. How could an infinite God gain any defense from my finite self? Doesn't seem effective, likely or possible. However, if the question were , "Would your god kill to defend you," then I'd struggle a little more with that. As a Christian I believe that Christ died to atone for the sin of humanity, but not that God "killed" Jesus. Complex theological nitpicking, but something I ponder nonetheless.

My first - gut instinct - response to this question was Shit No!
-
Thou shall not kill is one of the ten commandments.
-
I would not kill to defend god. I would use my smarts to defend him.
-
No. As others have said, God does not need my defense and killing in His Name would violate the teachings of Jesus. He taught us to demonstrate our faith by our love.
-
I don't really believe in a traditional god, but if I did, I would not defend him/her/it. I mean, he's/she's/it's a god, so if he/she/it can't stick up for her/him/its-self, what good am I going to be as a mere mortal! seriously though, absolutely not. killing goes against everything I believe.
-
I wouldn't worship anything that deems murder as a necessary parameter for salvation.
-
Lets see. Is it baseball? democracy? stock in Halliburton , technology. sorry, I don't think these modern deities are worth dying for.
-
No, because that would go against His teachings in the Bible. He does not need any one to defend Him anyway. -In the Master's service. Thank you and God bless you!
-
No. My God would not approve of me murdering. And He's omnipotent, so I'm sure He doesn't need someone like me TRYING to defend him. I'll stand up for what I believe in, but I won't take anybody's life (unless I absolutely have to in self-defense).
-
My God is a God of Love. so no I wouldn't
-
No but I might have to die in defence of him!
-
I'm pretty sure my God wouldn't want that. So no.
-
GOD needs no one to defend him, he is a awesome, powerful , fearsome GOD, he says that when he returns , migthly and great men will will hide in the earth and tremble in fear , crying for the rocks to fall on them and hide them from the face of the lord, my GOD has swallowed up whole cities into the earth , he takes the strongest and makes them the weakest, he takes the weakest and makes them the strongest and as for me, GOD certainly don't need my puny help.
