Have you noticed, we have many different religions, believing in many different Gods. Yet we still all use the same time scale when it comes to referring to years. Ex. 2200 BC., and 2007 AD...all refer to Jesus. WTF?

Actually, the academic world shifted over to BCE (Before the common era) or CE years ago. Most people believe that Christ was born anywhere from 8 to 3 BC. So even that's wrong. Each culture marks time with their own calendar. The chinese are on year 4705 and the jewish calendar is year 5767. Since the Romans conquered most of europe, they spread their calendar around. That's it.
