Well, they don't like you to have a different opinion than they do. And yes, I noticed that. It's the same in life. Some people don't think anyone else can bring something to the table if it's not what they already are used to eating.

I've noticed that a lot and I've learned to just ignore them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, good or bad.

It isn't that they don't like you to have an opinion. They just don't like you to have an opinion that differs to theirs. It's only a tiny minority though.

Is it that they don't like you to have an opinion, or is it that you don't like it when they have an opinion about your opinion? This is a back and forth website, not a blog. While you are free to express an opinion, so is everyone else.

yes! i really dislike it when someone asks a question that clearly shows you THEIR opinion, but asks if you agree, and then when you don't agree, THEY MARK YOU DOWN LIKE 4 POINTS. that's not fair. start a blog if you want to rant.

I think some questions are posed as bait to reel in people with differing opinions so that the downrating can begin. At least some of them appear that way to me. Stop feeding the trolls!

It is not that you cannot have an opinion. It is that others have the rights to their opinions. You have to expect hot water when you express a controversial and disliked opinion. People are going to respond in kind. However, anyone who has a brain is going to look at that person's other questions and answers before disliking that person. They may dislike the answer the person is taking heat for but that does not always mean they dislike the person him or herself. I have expressed opinions that offend others and they let me know it. However, other than a few trolls, they have taken my answer as something they disagreed with and moved on with no problem.

yes, i've noticed how when an opinion is put up and people dissagree, and arent afraid to show it, well there's either cuss words, or total disreguard for the actual subject at hand. on the other side though, some people are totally respectful and try to give their opinion in a manner in which you know they want you to know what their opinion is but, they're not putting down yours in the process. which is how this place should work. haha "welcome to the real world." right?

Oh they love opinions here as long as it is similar to theirs, or some people are like that. But the majority of the people I find here are rather fair and friendly and are here to exchange ideas or learn about other people.

I have noticed that. Personally, I try to let others be entitled to their opinions unless I feel they are being unjustly discriminatory and hateful. Saying you don't like gays is fine with me. Blaming them for the decline of morality in the world is not.
