The "Atheism" category is a subcategory under "Religion." Do you think this is appropriate, since atheism is LACK of religion?

Well, I have two reasons - To have Atheism, you must have religion. Secondly - While Atheism isn't a Religion per se, It is still a belief system, so religion is about the best answerbag category we have.

Naa, it doesn't affect me, nor does it harm anyone, thus I'm not offended. It could have been placed in the 'food' or 'hygiene' section for all I care : D It's not true to say it's a religion though, but I don't really care that it was placed there.

It doesn't bother me. People who are curious and having doubts about religion are likely to come here; and those are the people whose attention we want to get.

Well, where else would they put it? It may cause some misconceptions but the fellas here would be happy to clear it up or laugh it off or both. ALthough the "Believeing in not believing" thing is kind of annoying. Sounds fundie.

AB has stuffed up with this. I reckon that they don't care about what Atheists would like regarding a proper category. It's obvious AB is run by mainly fundie catholics and jews. They are clearly Anti-Atheist in their running of this site when it comes to pandering to the whinging whining bellyaching from religious crackpots like the Whacko Jacko fans. For example,Whacko was a jehovah witness.So anything detrimental posted about him after he killed himself with an overdose of NARCOTICS was immediately targeted for removal by jw radicals who didn't care about his pedophilia and removed with the full glare of appraisal by AB staff.

Atheism would fit better under a science category because it is based more on facts of reality than the imaginary dreamland world of religion.

It is appropriate regarless of whether it is based on a lack of religion or not.....It is concerning religion in general so it should stay.
