I don't think that Washington would have wanted "In God We Trust" imprinted upon it, or any money for that matter.

It's just a coin. If you don't want yours, I'll have them is my motto.

I think it's awesome, how do you think Washington would feel after all the work he did on our constitution which clearly says "separation of church and state" and we totally disregard what our forefathers intended for us because they knew what the alternative could lead to, obviously it's impossible to learn from the past

But it IS written on it. It's on the edging around the coin. "E Pluribus Unum" is there too. In other news, there is no "war on Christmas". And Harry Potter is not leading children to Satanism. Manufactured outrage is so 2005! ;) added: Seriously, the allegation is completely false and yet the lie gets around so much faster than the truth, and is never corrected. Snopes is on top of this as always. http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/dollarcoin.asp

Some people don't like that statement. It offends them. So unless you can accept equal amounts of 'In Allah We Trust', or 'In Bhudda We Trust', this is logical and fair. If you believe and trust in God, that's cool. No one will stop you. But there are a lot of decent, tax-paying citizens of this country who deserve to have their beliefs honored by simply leaving off a statement about the beliefs of others.

Yeah, my thoughts are when will people grow up?
