Run it through the dryer. Use anti-static cloths.

DO NOT turn the unit on when wet. I've done this in the past with small electronics when I accidentally wet it, and it has worked for me. WAIT until the unit is completely dry to turn it back on. Sometimes that could take weeks. If you turn on the unit while it's still wet or even moist, you can say goodbye to it.

Looks to be a very expensive lesson in checking your pockets.

If you don't want her to find out just buy her a new one cause theres nothing you can do to save that one.

My husband said it is probably all washed up. Chalk it up to experience...these things are getting smaller and smaller. Make sure your children check their pockets. It is their responsibility first and foremost, to look after their property.

Though I dislike apple, they normally have a *very* good warrenty program. If the warrenty is still on then you can go in and exchange it for a brand new one.

Electronics don't always die if they fall in water. Ihave saved cell phones from watery graves. Since the warranty is void with washing it I'm sure, you are free to open the IPod if you can. However I think it is held together with snaps so BE CAUTIOUS not to break them. If you can get it apart use a hair dryer to thoroughly dry every single component. Then I suggest using contact cleaner (not for the contacts that one wears in the eyes (electronics contact cleaner)) to clean the contacts between the boards. If you can't get it apart jry putting the whole thin under the hair dryer for a couple of hours. Hope this helps.

if u plug it into a speaker system, it will most likeley come back to life. my 2nd generation red ipod nano went through the washer and dryer and it came out dead. i plugged it into a JBL speaker and it came back to life. the screen was water damaged at first and the clicker sounded weird but after a few days, everything was normal again and it works fine! a few battery problems occationally and sometimes it just freezes but every time i plug it into the JBL it works like new. good luck!

i put a phone in the freezer after it ran through the wash, and if it stays there over night, it could work. if you freeze it, dont expect it to be perfect the next day. let it start out slow. my phone works like its brand new again.
