I would imagine that the Court would need to PROVE that she was being deceitful.

ABSOLUTELY, woman know when there is a possiblity that someone else could be the father of a child & deliberately keeps it from the other man thats supporting the child because they know they will probably be rejected or the biological father is to sorry to work & support the child or wants nothing to do with the child. Lord only they make the men pay for everything they can, they should make the woman do the same if not arrest them. If they made tougher laws like that the state would be paying for less dna tests if the woman knew they would be charged & have to pay the same as the men.

I saw a report of a case where the child was proven not to be the ex-husband, and the court ruled he had to pay child support anyway, because the child is considered the legal child of the husband at the time of the birth.

Here's an answer for negative points... Yes, John, there should definitely be harsh consequences for fraudulent claims of paternity. There is no excuse! These women give women like me a bad name. Also, I have no respect for women who take men to the cleaners just because then can. In my case, my ex NEVER paid child support and any time I even suggested going to court, he called me a money-hungry b*tch. The courts should not be forced to have to decipher paternity, but because they are - and because our tax dollars are spent doing it, they should certainly be shown the light.
