I can only speak for Britain and Spain, but we don't have those call letters in either of the countries I've lived in. I've often wondered what their function is. Where I live now the English-speaking channels we have are UK Away FM, Holiday FM, Buzz FM and a couple of others, but the heyday of radio broadcasting in the UK was the days of the pirate ships - Radio Caroline, Radio 270, aah, happy days.
