Why was Henry Cavill fired from the Superman role?
I just read about it online but no reason was mentioned

I doubt he was "fired" because he wasn't hired for the role. Fans expect the same actor will portray the same character, but that's the decision of the director and casting director especially if its not the same directors. Sometimes, they need someone else who will portray a different side of the character that the previous actor may not be able to deliver, at least in the eyes of the director. I'll tell you something else, this campaign that The Rock is hoping for, to patent an actor to a marvel character isn't going to work. Dwayne Johnson looked in no way, shape or form as the character of Black Adam as in the comics. Can't even see the character of Black Adam on screen because Dwayne only knows how to play and portray himself. He can't bring out the character, only the looks and the machoness of the "The Rock" which is roughly the same of majority of his films. Don't expect that Dwayne will be used again for the character of Black Adam. Perhaps another director(s) may have a different view of the character that another actor may be able to pull off better.
