  • Sounds like she's in heat.
  • Some cats are chattier than others. My girl hardly talked at all but my boy says anything that flits through his little brain. When you touch her, she may just be saying that she likes the attention from you. If she pulls away from your touch while yowling, try to gently check her for sores, lumps, or areas that seem to cause her pain and schedule a trip to the vet if necessary. She's not being weird when she nuzzles into your hair, she loves you and thinks of you as her mama. This is behavior left over from kittenhood. She's mimicking the way she used to nurse by kneading her paws and salivating. It's actually a compliment!
  • My cat is also very vocal and drool-happy. I have cat saliva stains on the screen of my laptop. It seems to me like she likes the attention and loves to snuggle. Does she have anything soft of her own? Constantine has his own blanket on my bed that he can freely knead whenever nature tells him to.
  • I had a yowly drooling cat too. Maybe we should start a support group for owners of loud cats with over-active salivary glands!
  • A cat with character I'd say. My favourite cat chose me - I stuck my hand into a cage full of kittens and Moccy clawed straight up my (bare) arm and sat on my shoulder, yowling and eating my ear. She used to love standing in my lap so she could rub the top of her head against my unshaven whiskers.
