I believe that God exists...simply because the alternative is so very difficult to believe or even comprehend. That is: I believe that God exists because the concept of a "First Cause" makes so very much more sense to me than does a literally infinite succession of cause-and-effect, a concept that (IMO) has serious logical and technical problems. *** NOW: it's true that a "First Cause" does not have to be God...but again: that seems more likely than the alternatives.
