  • Don't know if this is true, but...according to internet "wisdom", the phrase "eye of the tiger" comes from the fact (or "fact") that when a tiger is about to pounce on its prey it moves its ears forward, revealing what is known as "eye spots" that are normally only seen from behind. So: when one sees "the eye of the tiger" (when looking at the tiger head-on), one is about to be the victim of the tiger.
