  • To answer your Question, It could be Pyometra, if it is not just the puppies. Pyometra is a very serious problem and would require an imediate spay along with some very powerful antibiotics. It is normal for a bitch to gain a lot of weight during the last 3 weeks of her pregnancy so I think what you are seeing is normal. Just make sure that she is acting ok (take into consideration that she is pregnant), eating good (she may stop eating 3 days or less before she goes into labor but until then she should have a healthy appetite), make sure she isn't drinking excessively accompanied with a lack of appetite (VET ASAP), and check her frequently for a vaginal discharge (any discharge should be clear and odorless, any color or odor is reason for concern).
