Help answer this question below.
Well, you can begin with my website (http://www.witchoftheeast.com). The reason I say this is because I have a list of links to other sites that I typically recommend.
If you want to learn for free, though, you should try your local library. Books are better for learning. It is a tradition within Wicca, btw, that training is free. Learning under a Wiccan instructor should cost you no more than the materials involved (purchasing your own books, BOS, ritual tools, etc), and that instructor's expenses for teaching you (travel, for instance). If someone is charging money for teaching you, that is a big red flag.
As always, the largest collection/listing of Wiccan resources is on WitchVox: http://www.witchvox.com . Also as always, Vox does NOT screen the links and information posted, so investigate the credibility of any source you use.
*shrug* there's a bajillion websites about it.
i would just order some books. can't always trust the web. sometimes it's hard to tell which sites are really about wicca and which sites are about some fantasy people have about it.
i would say steer clear of Silver Ravenwolf books. I've read some and they are just...crap. good god.
First, it might be a good idea if you tell us why you want to learn about Wicca and "magick". What do you mean when you say "magick" and what is it about it that attracts you? Do you understand that Wicca is a specific religion and that "magick" is not? In fact, only a limited number of people even spell it that way. Is there a specific reason you chose that spelling? Are you a teenager/young adult/mature adult? I ask these questions so that we can give you good answers to your questions.
I'm a big fan of www.wicca.com . The site's originator, Herne, is qutie gifted in giving a fair, unbiased look into Wicca and the site is a good reference for all Wiccans. It even gives good suggestions for reading material (in book-form) that you can look into on your own.
I recommend, if you're just starting to look into it, to find information that doesn't come from any specific Tradition (sort of like a denomination in Christian terms). Go for the unbiased information first and then, if you feel a Tradition is best for you, you can search them out (either in a coven, a teacher, or a more specific site).
Try to avoid, at first at least, sites claiming to offer "lessons" (especially those that make you pay for them), anything stemming from Silver Ravenwolf (or whatever her name is), and look into several different sites not just one (so you get a full spectrum of things).
That's just my two cents for you - feel free to take what you will and leave the rest. As a last piece of advice, remember that Wicca is a non-dogmatic religion so there really is no "right" way or "wrong" way to follow it. There is a more common way and less common ways, but I recommend doing what feels like the path for you - find this out through much meditation, self-reflection, and prayer (to whatever deity, if any, you prefer).
