I have some friends like that. One of them saved my life. And I understand what you've been through. I've been there myself. I got sick and was in denial that I couldn't take care of myself anymore. It was a very humbling experience. I felt like I've been independent since birth but I needed to be humbled.. I needed to grow empathy so I would be better prepared to help others. Have you applied for disability?

  • It was below zero and my car overheated due to the radiator freezing.A stranger stopped and took me to get anti-freeze and to get warm.I only had frostbite on 2 fingers and didn't lose them thanks to him.

So thankful for those fingers! I never lost any thank God! But I've had hand injuries that helped me appreciate the value of my hands (and independence)! Its very humbling to need help using the facilities! But triumph won when I realized I could use a wire hangar to hook the zipper pull before putting the pants on! Then I wouldn't have to ask for help. It was a bit of a challenge to get myself to the hospital when all I had to drive was a 5-speed and I'd burned my right hand. Yep! I've learned to appreciate my hands! 🙌
