Why do people insist on listening to their ipods and things of that nature so loud everyone else can hear their music too?

Not sure. I think it's the "cool" factor they think they're giving off. Like the braods who insist on chewing with their mouths open because they think it's cool. It's obnoxious, so just f*cking quit already! Both with the chewing and the iPod! If I wanted to listen to your music, I would have asked to share.

They are just trying to look cool for a) having an ipod b)being seen listening to the best music and c)for actually knowing what's good music.

So we'll all know they have one and they are so modern and cool. Like children, they love any type of attention, even negative.

Because they probably don't want to here there surroundings. I do that the whole time!! I would like to hear my music, not my mom screaming at my sister!!

I think they're just trying to show off they're mp3's n'stuff.. i think its sord of like a competition to see who's mp3 is louder, the louder they are, the kooler they are.

I use my mp3 player when walking, I am listening to music that goes with my current mood, and if I am having a bad or stressful day I crank it up walk faster and it seems to block reality out for me, for a little while, anyways.

Because they might just be inconsiderate and perhaps they think that everyone actually wants to listen to their music. Sometimes people don't even realize how loudly their music is, as well. This is the case at school during class sometimes.

Some people enjoy listening to their music loud as it brings up their mood and can help them along the day. However, others tend to blast their music to feel "cool" by showing the fact that they have an iPOD and various other reasons. I personally like my music at a volume where only I can hear it when I'm using my iPOD. I only play music loudly when I'm on my computer or using my radio. =)

For me its because I listen to metal rap and oldschool punk and if you listen to these quietly they arent as good. You get pumped up when you listen to these types loud so the louder the better. Sorry if it bothers you.us
