My sister was on a list to be called if a deer was hit by a car so she could collect and butcher it, but I don't think I ate any of it unawares. I wouldn't have objected to trying it even though I'm not a fan of venison.

I like the backstraps and tenderloins, but the rest of the deer is ground up or to make jerky... Thanks for your answer. -

Oh, I'd be thankful for it and eat it with gratitude and thanksgiving! And I would thank God for the animal and have respect for its life! -

So say we all. -

That's a line from The Divergent series. Have you read it by any chance? -
Azlotto
No, I didn't read it, but I'll check it out. -
Linda Joy
Its an interesting read. I read it because my son liked the movie and I wanted to be able to talk to him about it, but ended up really liking it.

Yes, turkey & deer. The turkey fed a family of 4. And the deer was a button buck: 35 pounds from what we butchered ourselves. There was a period of time where I picked up lots of roadkill and fed it to my dog and cats. Rabbit was a favorite of theirs

If I kill an animal on the road, the meat isn't wasted...wait, I don't think I'd eat a skunk....Thanks, Roaring. -
Roaring
Did you know that a fox smells like a skunk, just not as strong? -
Azlotto
No I didn't...Thanks for the heads-up. : ) -
Linda Joy
Maybe the Fox ate the skunk! I didn't know this either. I'm glad I scrolled down!
