  • My sister was on a list to be called if a deer was hit by a car so she could collect and butcher it, but I don't think I ate any of it unawares. I wouldn't have objected to trying it even though I'm not a fan of venison.

I like the backstraps and tenderloins, but the rest of the deer is ground up or to make jerky... Thanks for your answer.

Oh, I'd be thankful for it and eat it with gratitude and thanksgiving! And I would thank God for the animal and have respect for its life!
    • Azlotto
      So say we all.

That's a line from The Divergent series. Have you read it by any chance?
    • Azlotto
No, I didn't read it, but I'll check it out.

Its an interesting read. I read it because my son liked the movie and I wanted to be able to talk to him about it, but ended up really liking it.
  • Yes, turkey & deer. The turkey fed a family of 4. And the deer was a button buck: 35 pounds from what we butchered ourselves. There was a period of time where I picked up lots of roadkill and fed it to my dog and cats. Rabbit was a favorite of theirs

If I kill an animal on the road, the meat isn't wasted...wait, I don't think I'd eat a skunk....Thanks, Roaring.
    • Roaring
Did you know that a fox smells like a skunk, just not as strong?
    • Azlotto
      No I didn't...Thanks for the heads-up. : )
    • Linda Joy
Maybe the Fox ate the skunk! I didn't know this either. I'm glad I scrolled down!
