Usually there is a closed casket and nobody ever views the body. They can't do too much to a body if there's not too much to do it to.

Most morticians are very well versed in postmortem plastic surgery, so often times they can repair even the most horribly mangled remains to some semblance of life. But in the cases where there isn't even enough of the old bodily structure left to work on, where there are more areas missing or severely damaged than there are left intact, there's always the option for a closed-casket service.
