  • Why not just edit your original answer?
  • Sometimes I've answered the same question twice because I thought of another answer later, but didn't want to edit the original as it was still valid. Like if it's a 'conversational' opinion-based question.
  • Unless the user asks for multiple answers ( rare ), then I would not give one, cant see the point, your answer is your answer.
  • well i've never done it but it really dosent bother me at all so i guess i never really thought of it as being like in the way or anything
  • I don't know. Maybe they are inhabited by multiple personalities who would all like to give 2 bits, but are too lazy to create separate accounts... Or maybe they have attention deficit disorder. Or maybe just conflicting opinions on the matter and simply cannot commit to one ideal. LOL! I did it once on a photography question because I had more than one photo to share.
  • Some but few types of questions allow for multiple answers such as this one of mine: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/338803 since every new and useful submission helps me obtain my goal. The majority of questions should have only one answer because there could be no possible way to answer something differently. What's your favorite etc... is quite definitive. The more openings a question allows for multiple answers the more likely it will get multiple answers.
  • I am afraid I am guilty of writing two answers to a couple of questions. Purely by accident , I seem to forget that I have answered the question but when I have noticed I do seem to be consistant, both answers always seem to be the same
  • I am guilty of that, and probably should have just edited my original answer with an add on, but didn't think about that till later.
  • I think that a user should put everything into one answer. (expect in case where the questions asks that it's ok to have multiples). It seems unfair when someone posts multiple answers in one question. If I see that if I do that, then I would edit the last answer posted and ask for it to be flagged. I think that it is not right to have more than one answer.
  • I've done multiple postings on ocassions. The one I remember the most is this: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/182029 I'm sure Penny didn't mind, many others did the same. I guess in those type of light-hearted questions is acceptable, because you think of some additional(s) answer(s) later and feel they're worth submitting.
  • There have been a couple times when I have accidentally answered a question more than once, and saw it at a later date. There was even one question where my two answers COMPLETELY differed from one another. I guess it just goes to show how your thoughts and opinions can change from day to day, or with your moods.
  • I think it may have a lot to do with the question at hand. See I've done this myself. And each time I think to myself --Why am I doing this again? Well it all has to do with the questions & answers that I see. For by reading the answers that others have given, I try to understand their point of view, and were they are coming from. Later I may have answered the same question, but in a different respective way. However ever the case maybe, I still look to the ONE UP ABOVE to guide me. And pray that those reading or answering what ever I've try to type, be not mis-lead. This is why you'll see in most if not all of the web's were I've been, that I'll end my statement with the letters of M.C.S. as I try to be a Mighty Christian Soldier for Christ Jesus my Lord. May The HOLY GOD be with you in JESUS name. M.C.S.
  • You can edit your answer so you shouldn't answer more than once. If you don't want to edit your answer you should leave a comment. I accidentally answered a question twice, but I thought I was leaving a comment to my original answer.
  • I only answer a question multiple times if the questioner wants it that way or if I forget that I already answered it.
  • Some new users don't realise that they can post a comment and the only way they see to respond is to answer. You have to remember that we aren't all experts in this internet, forums thingummy.
