  • Avoid places where your smoking friends go, do the washing up.... also I found that getting a jar and putting the money you would spend on cigarettes in it.... and use it to treat yourself.... i made 500 pounds and bought a brand new laptop. Get a punchbag and give it a good beating when you feel the urge, it helps get out your frustrations. Hope these help.... and good luck
  • What you need to try to do is change a lot of the things that you do when you smoke.like when you get up and make a coffee and the lighter and cigs are on the table put them out of view.I only say that because you may want to slow down at first. and then try not to think of them. start to do something different.the less you think of them the less you will want one. it's hard but you have to be determined that you are goin to do it.the first few months are very hard it was for me I have not smoked for five years.but believe me when i walk by that first lit cig it smells pretty dam good.keep telling your self as they days pass how good you are doing. and if it does not work the first time do it again you will quit if you are determined.you can do it have a smokless day and power to you.30 years of smoking gone no more finished Redman.
  • My favourite ways to quit include... PATCHES...for the physical side of the craving. Avoid going to bars/other smoking haunts for a couple of weeks. Put the cigarette money to one side and spend it on something fun in the first month. ( I nearly bought everything in the Body Shop..) Write down your own personal list of why YOU want to quit (mine included not seeing the scary woman in the smoke room...) and post it everywhere in the house where you might be tempted to light up. Also, wash all your clothes and anything else which might whiff a bit so you're not tempted back by the smell....
  • Ask yourself what damage you have done to your body already from smoking and if you have been lucky enough to get away with any damage to your body up to now then ask yourself will the next cigarette I have be the one that begins to do the damage. I drove myself crazy with these thoughts and never touched another cigarette after 38 years of smoking. I also want to see my grandchildren grow up.
