I would suggest going on a picnic or a park where you can take a walk on a trail or ride bikes. I would also suggest going to a lesser expensive movie theater if you have one in your area.

Movies are nice and inexpensive.

depends on where you live. usually local museums have date nights that are free [ours is on saturdays]. also, the zoo! usually about 8 bucks per person, and on certain days, they are free! [where i live, mondays b4 noon is free!]. also, some libraries have free concerts during the day... for free... also, for dinner dates: chipolte and cracker barrel are fairly cheap. between 15 and 25 $$ for two ppl.

Picnics are easy if you have a park or beach nearby. Sporting events can be affordable if you have a minor league baseball team in town or catch a local small college game for only a few bucks. Often the local colleges don't get enough support and appreciate the support as well. Most colleges and Junior colleges have their sports schedules on their website, as well as their theater events, like plays, are often very affordable and fun to watch.

Church socials. Public lectures (matters of mutual interest, of course). Exercise - running, bicycling, walking, weight training, calesthinics, swimming in public water or home pools, billiards in an upscale public pool parlor - all great for the rubdowns afterwards. Writing groups. Poetry readings/slams. Ice cream parlors - real old-fashioned ones, not the 7-11. Antiquing. Flea markets. Furniture auctions for watching, mostly. Gun shows. Volunteering with Habitat. Volunteering with a local public food kitchen for indigents. Other volunteer work. Church local missionary support. Local school sports events. Charity walks/runs/organizational meetings. Photo ops. Lastly, tuning up her Harley.

How about lunch instead of dinner? You can go to a nice place and pay a lot less.

These ideas are not only cheap ideas for the pocket, but a test as well. A test to see if the person you are dating are really into you for who you are and not other things like money, sex or materialistic things: (Do this only if you trust each other). For first dates see no.4. 1. Invite him/her over to watch a dvd/video at your home. Make it special buy some candles, popcorn and something to drink (like coke). Make it special. Throw a blanket on the floor and have a mini picnic. Cuddle, kiss and if you want to have a sleepover. 2.Have a picnic. Take him/her out some place breathtaking. Someplace with a beautiful scenery. Buy finger foods or make something delicious of your own and feed him/her. 3. Cook for him/her (if you can cook). Make a candle lit dinner. This will also show that you genuinely care for the person and go through trouble to please him/her. 4. Go to a coffee shop and chat. Just talk, make jokes and get to know each other. Dating isn't just about being romantic and kissing. It's about getting to know each other and an intellectual conversation can be nice especially on a first date. 5. Take a walk. Do this in a safe area at night. This will also be a great opportunity to get to know each other. Afterwards you can go to your house or the other persons house drink something to cool down and relax. Hope these suggestions helped. Enjoy your date! Ps. I've said this before, but bowling is usually a great date idea. It's fairly cheap and usually it works out for me.

A Scavenger Hunt is always fun. Make up some things to find during your date. You can really get to know a person by doing this :)
