If the egg is half cracked, and no activity for say 24 hours, then very , very gently help break just a little more. helping it right out too quickly make shock the animal. If it ever looks stuck or in distress, then nothing is to be lost by immediate help.

Why are you incubating ducks eggs? Where is the mother and father?

Where are these eggs? Are they being kept humid enough? Without humidity they don't do well. THe mother duck will go into water and get her chest all damp and then lie back down on her eggs. Is ther a crack in the egg tht you can see a duckling? You shouldn't be able to see it unless it has pecked a peep hole through the shell with it's tooth on it's beak. If there is a crack and what you are seeing is the membrane around the egg, be very careful about tearing it. There are blood vessels in this membrane. I'd keep the egg warm and humid and just wait. If a duckling doesn't hatch on it's own it's very difficult and usually not successful for a beginner to help it out of the shell. DO you hear any pipping from the egg? Hatching usually takes place between the 25-28 day. After this, it's not good. It's been too long.
