  • wow thats brilliant. obviously she likes playing the harmonica so its something she enjoys doing. why not enrol her at a music school. kids change their mind all the time though. my friends daughter loved dancing and went to dance school and then one day just said she didnt want to do it anymore.
  • X-Factor!
  • She's five. You'll have to let her decide if she wants to continue. If you show signs of pushing, she'll pull away.
  • Hi! Buy her a harmonica ($20-40 for decent one)... Lessons can be useful. Also, turn her onto early Stevie Wonder - his harmonica playing is awesome (or early Bob Dylan) See this link for "Little Stevie Wonder" 1960's..:) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_g9KfrjZ60&mode=related&search=
  • Applaud her and encourage her. Stop and listen to her, but don't hover. Tell her that when she is ready, she can have lessons. Make simple musical instruments available to her by just leaving them around - tone bars, percussion instruments, others. If you have a piano. allow her to experiment with it. The only rules are that she use her fingers. Sit down on the floor with her and engage in musical play if that is something she would respond to. Tell her how much you enjoy hearing her play.
  • Maybe buy her another harmonica (they come in different keys). Or go for the gusto and buy a chromatic harmonica (the big one which can play in most any key)
  • Thats awesome, dont push, your right, just encourage her and let her explore it,how fun!
  • That's amazing. Congratulate her for me! Well, I don't know if giving her lessons is such a great idea. All my life, I have loved music, but because of all the practicing and lessons I went through, I must say that sure, it made me a better musician, but it also took away some pleasure. At such a young age, encourage her. Listen to her and encourage her, maybe even buy her books so she can teach herself, but I personally, am not going to encourage her to take lessons. Don't push her too hard and leave room for her to say "no".
