Were you eating curds and whey by any chance?

Tarantulas make wonderful pets. They can learn their names and be quite friendly. They really aren't very dangerous. You can handle them with little fear. Just be sure to make them feel secure and DO NOT DROP them. They can rupture easily. They are delicate. At your pet store or online, they can tell you more about taking care of them. Think of it as a small hairy dog:-)

It will cause no problems. Although I think a better solution is to move him to a natural environment where he can be free to do what spiders do. He wasn't born to be a captive.

First you should find what kind of tarantula it is. If it is venomous you shouldn't keep it. If not you have nothing to worry about. Just make sure to take good care of it. Feed it grasshoppers and crickets. Keep the tank from 70 to 80 degrees. Keep the humidity at about 70 to 80 also. Put in what ever kind of soil you found it on. It should be fed about once or twice a week. For more info on how to take care of it search some it on the internet.

Just leave it be. Both you and the spider will both be happier if it is left outside.

Bet on the. . . . . . . TARANTULA!!!!!!!!

I would say that smoking cigarettes is more dangerous than keeping a Tarantula. I like spiders because they eat bugs. The down side is that you have to feed them. Personally, would make sure it's placed someplace where some idiot won't step on it. They've lived for millions of years without human aid, they'll probably just fine without you. Unless you really want to catch and handle bugs to feed it.

A tarantula out in the wild? Really? You sure it wasn't a wolf spider? I've seen a big one at about the size of a tarantula... so maybe see if that's what it is. If it was me though, I would just leave the poor thing alone. It's better off i the wild, where he is sure to eat whenever and has all the space in the world to run around in...tell your bf that if you don't want him to keep it... And spiders are not all that scary! They actually really cute! lol XD They wont bite you if you handle them carefully.

It is wild, LEAVE it in the wild =/

They cannot harm you. Only you can harm yourself when it comes to tarantulas, by being scared.
