  • I would definitely do the zipline through the rainforest. And of course a basic tourist luau. http://tinyurl.com/2f46bk
  • Depends on what island you are going to, but if you are in Maui, definitely do the bikeride to the volcano. It's a long day but the sunrise is well worth it. You'll need warm clothes to start (sweatshirt or even a jacket) but practically nothing for the ride back. The "Road to Hanna" is pretty cool (rent a jeep)but also a long day. Helicopter rides are exciting, expensive and over way too fast, but worth it if you've got some extra cash to spend
  • I would love to hike around the beautiful green hills and see a volcanoe, also swim on the beach.
  • Since I live here ... on Oahu ... I'd definitely add ANY swim-with-the-dolphin tours. Its an experience of a lifetime. (So much so that I now volunteer with them!) Also, though I am not a fisher-woman by nature, we just 'did' a deep sea fishing adventure and ended up with a 110 pound Yellowtail Tuna (called Ahi by most). There was so much sashimi that we ended up giving 70 pounds, all trimed and 'ready' to everyone in our building, especially those seniors or shut-ins! Boy-o-boy, were our neighbors HAPPY! HA! Another 'area' that is on every island that most visitors haven't seen are called 'Heiau.' These are ancient burial grounds, usually high up on a mountain side overlooking the ocean. These are VERY VERY VERY old! Funny thing is, even though these are ancient, even if you had to climb to get to one (or drive up), NO ONE is around, you will find FRESH leis or wrapped banana leaves with food, sitting right there. The presence of these places are awesome: a great and serene place to look out to sea and remember ... whatever you wish to! Also, if you can, just ask a local what or where their favorite 'secret' place may be: we've done this many times over the years and since The Aloha Spirit is alive and well and incredibly cooperative, we have seen some amazing places, been in faboulous waters and laid on hidden lagoons! Each island IS completely different, though most do not know this as visitors.
