Yes, it was one of those national franchise chain maid services. We cancelled them after our house was burglarized. To this day we think it was an inside job involving one of the maids and a boyfriend.

Not a maid but a cleaning person would come. My mom had one come in once a week and I have had one come in when I needed some help. When we were taking care of someone else's home, we had someone come in twice a week and care for an elderly relative too.

No, but I know some persons who worked as live-in maid/nanny girls when they were young girls in their late teens/early 20's and one of the things they disliked the most were the uniforms (like blouses and skirts, aprons and high-healed shoes) the employers required the girls to wear.
