  • Sounds to me like your niece could be a commercial model, a fitness model, swimwear model. Hope this helps: Contact some modeling agencies asking them their guidelines for their open calls (a certain time and day when agencies interview new models). Check them out extensively starting with the Better Business Bureau. A few legit ones that are located in Manhattan are: (sorry I do not know their address or phone number) Wilhelmina Models Inc. Ford Model Inc. Elite Models Corp. Funny Faces Today Inc. Plus Models (larger size models) Zoli Management Inc. Your niece will need some photos to take with her to the agency. A headshot clearly showing eyes and jaw line (from shoulders up), a full body shot (maybe one in a swimsuit showing shape). The less makeup the better so they can see her natural beauty. NO Glamour Shots types of photos, they do not have to be professionally done, you can even take them. Once you're ready to sign with an agency, be sure to check and double check all contracts/materials the agency gives to you. Take them home if you have to. They should not mind if you take some time to read/think things over. There are some costs that an agency may or may not ask you to cover in the beginning: printing costs for your zed/composite cards (a large card containing pictures from your portfolio and information such as your height, weight, etc.) listing you in a model book/headsheet, or online database (a listing of the agency's model roster) a resume containing your modeling work experience additional photographs for your portfolio Be careful of the modeling scams out there, you can do a search on your favorite search engine and find lots of information/tips on how to avoid them. Good Luck!
  • I'd say just about anywhere...
