  • Yes, the GPS system would work as well at the poles as anywhere else in the world. It has nothing to do with the poles themselves. All it has to be able to "see" at least four GPS satellites, which are orbits that go over the poles in order to cover the whole earth. More than four satellites give higher accuracy; I think there are twenty or so satellites in total, though obviously some will be on the other side of the world at any given moment.
