  • do you know how many answerbag questions there are based on how someone found a loophole or a coincidental screw-up in the belief system? yes god is supposed to be infallible, but the bible is a long story, so there's bound to be something askew somewheres. downrate me if you want, i don't really care, but i think these questions are pretty endless anyway. questions like "if god is infallible and the snake screwed it up, wouldnt that unmake existence anyway?"
  • I don't think the belief is as popular as you think it is.
  • The garden of eden was taken from many pagan tales that have the same kind of story but just with a new twist.I is closely associated with nature and nature spirits such as a talking snake. It is the old tale of good and evil and temptation. So I would not be concerned with the afterlife, for everyones going to the same place.
  • How do you know his plan was screwed up? Forgive me. A question is not an appropriate answer to a question. What I mean is, what occurred in the garden, if it did indeed occur, may have been entirely purposeful.
  • Assuming for the moment that the Christian God exists as he is described in the Bible, one could argue that the Christian God is so perfect that he wonders what it would be like to fail. To test this hypothesis, he creates situations in which there is the possibility of failure, such as the creation of human beings. This is a more complicated version of "can God make a rock he can't lift," and just as flawed, but within Christian doctrine the Christian God can do anything, so it is possible (in that context) for the Christian God to create situations in which he can fail, provided he said in advance that he would let himself fail. As for Heaven, God is supposed to live there. He didn't live in the Garden and he didn't live on Earth. When you party, you feel free to break stuff in the other person's house. In your own house, you are going to pack away the good china and put out coasters for other people.
  • God let the serpent tempt Adam and Eve so that they could choose good or evil. God Almighty gave them the free will to choose to serve Him or serve Satan. What is amazing is, even after mankind chose evil instead of good, and death instead of life, God still did not give up on them. He had it planned before the world even began that He would send His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to this earth to die for our sins and bring us back to Himself through the blood of the Son, the blood of Jesus Christ, God's blood, and through His death, burial, and ressurection. Thank you and may God bless you. :) -In Jesus' Name.
  • You know why we're so screwed up? Instead of trying to understand the meaning of various events/stories in the Bible, (factual or not) we get all intellectual and analyze these things to death. Makes about as much sense as shredding a t-bone steak, looking for the taste. If we gave each other physicals as thoroughly, there'd be no illness. (shaking my head) So...for the sake of argument...let's say you're CORRECT. What useful purpose does this serve? God is a myth, there is no heaven, there is no Perfection...you've proved it. Now what? You cannot receive spiritual discernment through the intellect. The more you analyze, the further away you go. And some of us AIN'T NEVER GONNA GET IT. Nothing anyone says or does is gonna prove to us ANYTHING concerning God &/or religion. And that's alright! The only thing these types of questions prove is that you don't get it. OK...we got it.
