  • I think my cat does, now that he is older...When he was a kitten it was amusing to watch him by a mirror. Now, he will look into the mirror, but he doesn't hiss at it or attack it anymore.
  • Because they don't "think", like humans. They "react" through instinct.
  • Some animals do. Some don't. Their brains haven't evolved to need to self-recognize. They feel, they breathe, they eat, what they look like is not a matter to them. Other animals do. Some birds, apes, and other mammals do.
  • I believe American Idle is right to a certain degree, but like Shelby, I think they have the ability to "learn". My cats are like Shelby's... they used to freak out in front of a mirror. Now they sit in front of it and watch.... me.
