Why is it Marry Christmas but Happy (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, 4th of July, etc.)?

Christmas is descended from the pre-Christian mid-winter festival, which was often explicitly in time for feasting and making merry, when the weather was bleak and cold. Other celebrations, while they may include celebration meals, are not so explicitly about the one opportunity in a bleak season when you got to have fun.
