I guess it depends on what your defintion of little sleep is. I sleep about 6 hours a night. I haven't gained any weight. Seems like you would gain less weight since you are active 18 hours of the day. But honestly, I have no idea.

The less you sleep the more time on your own therefore eating can become a substitute. The more you eat; the rest is history!

Lets see I was 78kg/172lb when I came back from Africa... Now I am 79kg/174lb (same weight just fluctuates) Average hours of sleep per night 4.76 nope cant back that up but I guess I am living proof that disproves it.

There is a close relationship between sleep disorders like apnea and glucose intolerance, the chief cause of obesity.

I hardly get any sleep, ever, and I'm 65kg/143lb (18 yr old Male)... Perhaps I'm an exception to that, or perhaps I'm proof that isn't the case... But as tomsims said, there can be connections between medical conditions relating to both sleep disorder and weight, but I don't think there is a direct connection between 'sleep' and 'weight' in the average person.

I read that since your body isn't well rested enough, your body releases this...glucose-like substance (cortisol I think?) to be able to function properly. I gained like...a pound over a week (=_='') Hahaha.
