with my current job they are fun, I work with a lot of partiers.. but I have been at jobs where the parties SUX

I hate posh get togethers i have to go to one every bloody September,my husbands company and a partner Dutch company get together for a posh meal in a posh hotel and i feel so out of my depth.Last year i told my husband i didnt want to go and the next day the Dutch manager gave my husband a right bollocking because i wasnt there so i have my orders that i have to attend only death will excuse me....now theres a thought lol.

Never been to one. Would be fun to see how coworkers act when drunk or not at work.

Our office parties are never fun. Just when it does get going, our resident party-pooper proclaims that the hour is almost up and that she has tons of things to do. She's not even our supervisor and no she does not have tons of things to do.

Both. Once I get past my discomfort, I have fun. The most important thing for me is finding some people pr a person with whom I can have stimulating conversation - and also getting plenty of good food <smile>.
