  • Lettuce isn't bad for you, but it's not really good for you. Compared to other vegetables, they are pretty low in fiber, and iceburg lettuce (the white kind), has almost no nutritional value at all.
  • That's why you should eat green lettuce, like Romaine... anything dark and leafy is good.. the lighter it is the more water content. That's why Iceberg lettuce doesn't have much value, because the overwelhming majority of it is just water. Tasty water at that! Alex
  • Lettuce isn't bad for you. IT is good fiber. But iceberg lettuce has little good nutrition other than fiber. THe darker, leafy lettuces are better for you and have more minerals and vitamins and even more fiber, less water, than iceberg.   • The darker green, the better. Darker green indicates higher amounts of iron and calcium. It's also very high in soluble fiber.
