Yes. A Englishman should always know the name of his leader, and I do
-
Yes, definitely. In fact, I was watching live as the transition took place. I also know that we didn't actually have a prime minister for about 30 minutes a few days ago which was interesting (or at least to me, I'm sad like that).
-
Even as an American, I could. I watch the news quite a bit. We don't all think it's Austin Powers, everyone knows he's Canadian! :)
-
Yes, I did. I'm still at the stage where I say ''Tony Blair'' through default, he's the only Prime Minister I remember, but I do *know* it's actually Gordon Brown.
-
No, I honestly thought the leader was still Tony Blair. *blushes* I feel so... ... Uneducated!
-
Tempted as I am to say it's still Rupert Murdoch, who used his tabloids to give Blair his orders, I do hope that Brown will grow a pair and make his own decisions!
-
Yes our new PM is another Scotsman Gordon Brown.
-
Yes. I do read the paper and listen to the news about our cousins over there.
-
There is no PM of England. The PM of the United Kingdom is Gordon Brown.
-
There is no PM of England, When there is i will jump for joy, until then i have to put up with the undemocratic situation the is going on in my country Also the current PM of the UK was not elected by the current population of England... Gordon has no mandate to govern my country. The only country in the world with no parliament and no governor. This is truly a dire situation for all English people.
-
No. England hasn't got one. The United Kingdom has and he's called Gordon Brown and he's not very good.
-
Yup Gordon Brown, he is the unelected leader of England and The United Kingdom. Long live democracy.
-
I knew Gordon Brown was PM of the UK, but several other answers refer to him not being elected, what is that about?
-
It'd be worrying if I couldn't. It's Gordon Brown. Just like he's mine, and everyone else in Britain's.
-
yes, GB Gordon Brown
-
Yes. Gordon Brown.
-
That still would include England so technically he is the pm of England and all surrounding kingdoms or queendoms. No! He is the Prime Minister of Great Britain not England England is run by a small group of MP's who decide the day today running of England... Their words not mine. Alex Salmond is the 1st Minister (prime) of Scotland Rhodri Morgan is the 1st Minister (prime) of Wales Peter Robinson is the First Minister of Northern Ireland England has no one look into it yourself if you don’t believe me.
-
That would be Gordon Browne????
-
Who, Gordon Brown? And before that Tony Blair?
-
nope

I knew that Gordon Brown was the prime minister of the UK, but as far as England is concerned, I had to check. It looks like England has at the moment no Prime Minister of its own...although it is "the only country within the United Kingdom still governed in all matters by the UK government and the UK parliament in London." "There has not been a Government of England since 1707, when the Acts of Union 1707, putting into effect the terms of the Treaty of Union that had been agreed the previous year, joined the Kingdom of England with the Kingdom of Scotland to form the united Kingdom of Great Britain. Prior to this, England was ruled by a monarch and the Parliament of England. However, following the establishment of devolved government for Scotland and Wales in 1999, England was left as the only country within the United Kingdom still governed in all matters by the UK government and the UK parliament in London. The Palace of Westminster, the seat of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Since Westminster is the UK parliament but also legislates on matters that affect England alone, devolution of national matters to parliament/assemblies in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland has refocused attention on the anomaly called the West Lothian question. The "question" is why Scottish and Welsh MPs should continue to be able to vote on legislation relating only to England while English MPs have no equivalent right to legislate on devolved matters. This constitutional arrangement resulted in the Labour government only winning a 2004 vote to impose higher tuition fees on students in England due to the support of Scottish Labours MPs. This "question" is also exacerbated by the large number of Scottish MPs in the government, a group sometimes disparagingly called the Scottish mafia, and by having a Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, who represents a Scottish constituency that is unaffected by many of the policy decisions he takes." The prime minister of the UK is Gordon Brown, a man who looks like someone has drawn a sad face onto their scrotum, according to Frankie Boyle. I'm from the UK.
-
Before reading this I knew his surame was Brown.
-
Technically, Edoesn't have a Prime Minster. The United Kingdom does, and as a Brit, I could (obviously! =)
