Maybe you are a Vampire.

I am the exact same way.. I think it distracts me and I feel much more peaceful in complete darkness. Even if I close my eyes and cannot see the light.. I know it is there and I like everything shut down with me. Nothing left to shut down but my mind. On the weekends when my fiance' and I stay together.. he likes to watch t.v. and that is a big adjustment for me.. I usually wait until he is asleep and turn the t.v. off before I can go to sleep.

Your not alone I am the same way. so bad I have to cover the digital clock numbers as the light on the clock bothers me. I can't explain it but i know I have always been like that.

What's there to explain? Alot of people, including myself are like that.
-
nothing really to explain. the mind knows there is a crack of light, and it bugs you sort of subconciously. i "cant" drink out of a water bottle with a lable on it. i could if i REALLY needed to, but its really hard.

You not alone with this problem! My partner cant sleep without the tv and I cant sleep with it. Its become a huge hurdle between us and ive taken to sleeping in the spare room occassionally just so I can get a good nights sleep every now and then. I definatelly feel your pain!

We are awakened by unusual nervous stimuli; that's why we like soft bedclothes. A little noise, especially the calling of our name, or what served as an alarm clock for most people in the world--a window--serves to wake us up. The most restful night I spent in my entire life was in a pitch-dark soundless windowless basement room in Germany. If I could afford it, I'd have a house with a room like that.
