  • I will not walk under any ladders because I do not want to wear paint or knock anyone from his perch.
  • There is a superstition about putting hats on the bed that my husband told me about. He says that when he was younger he was cleaning his closet and throwing a bunch of hats on his bed. His mom told him to take them off the bed. He had a dog, an aunt, and a grandma die that week. Even though he's had bad experiences with the hats on the bed superstition, I haven't. I follow it because he believes it.
  • I sometimes eat black eyed peas on New Years Day because (A) I like them, (B) It is hard to get them any other time, and (C) It is a fun custom.
  • Knocking on wood as not to jinx the situation.
  • Over the years I've picked up a few superstitions that I follow: I never walk under ladders, If I spill salt I throw some over my right shoulder,I never put shoes on a table,I always say bless you if someone sneezes ( including strangers). You've got me thinking now so I'll probably come up with more later.
  • When going out by car, if we see a cat walk infront of us we decide to find another route. If its not necessary to go, we don't. Although I don't believe in it, I can't explain why I do it.
