It really depends on where you are going and the level of cover you have. In some cases you will need to pay the local health service as a "self pay customer" but receipts they issue can be sent to your insurer who will then reimburse them. If your insurer has an agreement with the place you're going then you might be able to get them billed for it, but this is BY NO MEANS a certainty. Read your insurance policy carefully, ask the post office if you have any doubts - and if in doubt, speak to a travel agent (who can sell travel insurance seperately from actual trip fees) to get the best deal.
