Condo bylaws are different for every condo community. You'll need to check with your particular association to find out what the rules are for your condo.

I was fined $1,000 for having a roomate, isnt that a bit ridiculious, the fine is in the association bylaws rules. The houses are HUGE, but cant have a ROOMATE? Stupid. However, you can have a significant other, relative with the same name, etc. as long as you dont take any money from them???? How can you get around this???

  • Merry's answer is correct. Just wanted to add that most condos will allow a roomate on the basis that the roomate meets the specified requirements of a resident (if there are any). It is usually just a simple matter contacting the HOA and letting them know that you intend to take on a roomate and they will probably ask for some personal information on the individual.
