I had this happen to me not that long ago. Suggestions are, dont seem to needy or pushy. Dont go to fast. It is up to her now if you are willing to wait it out with her. YOu need to figure out if it is worth it to wait around for something that may never happen. In my case it was, but i got pushy and he pulled away. I should have listend to him but I am not so sure the outcome would have been in my favor. You said she wanted to be freinds and see where it went and that is a good sign. She wants to go slow. I just wana say i was talking to this girl for a while and alot of shit happened like drama and shit. We always seemed to get back to talking. Then i was hanging out with her more for some reason. It was like that for a while then i decided to take it to next step and asking her to get to know each other better. I found out that she wants to be friends as hard as it was i played along with that for about 4 weeks. I played every game in the book did everything thinkin twice. After a while i wanted to ask again what do you think about me and you she said nothing has changed. I know she was being friendly sometimes but i know she was flurting like crazy.
