That psychology has actually helped people with the same help as normal people can do.

Phillip Zimbardo had to stop his experiment into obedience after 9 days due to his "guards" getting overzelous with his "prisoners" and volentering their time for free in order to carry on bullying.... the most interesting fact? these people were all tested and considered to be psychologically sound. (can you imagine the conditions in a real prison?)
