  • Read the Bible.
  • There are a lot of books which summarize the topic. I like C.S. Lewis, he writes clearly and passionately: "Mere Christianity" is one of his hallmark introductions to the religion. Also, the best general introduction which isn't limited to just Christianity is Huston Smith's "Religions of the World".
  • Not AB. I would go to a few different Christian churches to get a full-on experience. The Bible can be interpreted in so many ways (often laughably so) that I doubt you would get a real grasp on it without speaking with different people who have different interpretations. Good for you, it's great to explore alternative ideas!
  • Read everything you could get your hands on about it, especially how it all got started. That should do it.
