IMO you're too young to be getting anything pierced.

A scotch and a Cigarette. In all seriousness, don't worry about it. It doesn't really hurt that much, and if you take care of it, it'll turn out well.

I'm 21 and I;m too young... What the heck is a Tragus? It sounds painful!
-
I'd hold off on it... Being nervous could be a sign that you're not positively sure about getting the piercing. When you're completely sure about something, you don't have that nervous energy... it's changed to excitement and motivation.

neither of mine hurt when i got them done. GET IT DONE AT A PIERCING SHOP WITH A NEEDLE FROM A PROFESSIONAL PIERCER! you do not want your tragus pierced with a piercing gun, if you do that it will be the most unimaginable pain in the world. if you get it done by a professional (body) piercer they will make sure that all your piercing needs are met. a good one will even tell you how and when to breathe to make it all much easier on your body. with all that said, you of course need your parent's consent and it's really not recommended that people get piercings until they are finished growing (so that things don't shift) but talk to the piercer and she what they have to say about it. if they aren't willing to answer your questions they aren't the right piercer for you and you'll need to find another one.

Your nervous because you want to intentionally cause a traumatic injury to yourself for no good reason. So it is normal to be nervous when you are overriding your common sense. I guess you could think to yourself that it beats cutting your ear off with a saw so it will not be that painful in comparison. You are too young to do drugs or copius amounts of alcohol like mature young but adult ladies. I did not know children were getting anything more than simple piercings, I hope your parents wait awhile before subjecting you to tongue piercings till you can decide with a mature mind. I hope this helps.

I think you'd feel better if you picked out a piercer and talked to them beforehand. I still get nervous butterflies before every piercing and tattoo, and I've gone through many of both. I breathe deeply, accept the nervousness as part of the experience, and ask my piercer to say sweet soothing words. If you feel more comfortable with the person piercing you, you can relax more. BTW, 12 is young, although a tragus isn't exactly extreme at all. If your parents trust you enough to let you get it, then you must be responsible enough for it. Just make sure you'll take good care of it and go to a very good piercer.

Personally I believe you are too young to have tragus piercings. I think people of your age should only be allowed to have earlobes pierced and then only when they are with a parent who gives written permission

Just face it. LOOK at it. This is what I do with my tattoos and piercings. If you TRY to look away, "calm yourself" or "think of something else", it'll hurt. But if you FACE it, you master it, and it doesn't hurt. My tattoo artist taught me that. No more worries for me!

Im 13 and i also want my tragus peirced but dont worry about the nerves. my sister recentely got it done and she said the worst part was when they peirced it and it only felt like a pinch. but when u do make sure you go to a tatoo place. the gun can shatter the cartilage in ur tragus and can cause major irritation. make sure u have ur parents consent too. im still trying to convince mine to let me get it done. my sister is 18 and she used her graduation money and she didnt need consent.

Talk to your parents about it. Don't do anything because your friends are doing something. Understand the risks of infection, etc. If you are not comfortable, walk away from it.
-
Are you sure you just don't want your earlobes pierced? That part of the ear probably has tons more nerve ending than the lobe.

I have mine and my industrial done I just turned 23 I wouldve never even thought of getting mine done before I hit 13..but its up to you and your parents...so if you do get it done I will tell you this, I have 7 body piercings and this was the LEAST painful one. It was so much easier then I anticipated and feel like I got all worked up for nothing. The healing was so easy I was able to sleep on it that night, compared to the industrial which IM STILL trying to heal! ugh! Anyway, hope that helps, DONT be nervous, its a very easy piercing, and remember, pain is temporary.

you are too young in my opinion. im nearly 17 and my mum is hesitating to let me have mine done.. but i am going to have it done tomorrow regardless of pain...if it hurt so bad, why would people have the opposite one done? ask yourself that..x

dont you need to be 13 and over to be on AB?

Heya! People do whatever they want to do at their own time in life. Should you choose to get a piercing, just make sure you don't get in crap when you get home :-) I actually just got my tragus pierced this afternoon. I had it done on my previous ear.... I don't remembering it hurting this much. I have 8 piercings, tragus, rook, some other name, and of course the lobes. I am always nervous when I get a piercing, but honestly if you want it done, go and do it. It only takes a second and then you're done :-) Good luck!

If you're feeling nervous it might be a good idea to talk to the piercer you're going to first, or someone else who's had it done. If you're worried about the pain you shouldn't get too worked up. Different people have different thresholds so no one can tell you if it will hurt as it varies from person to person. If it does hurt though, it will only be for a couple seconds. :)

As much as I love piercings, you are far too young to be getting a tragus done. Your body is still growing, and I'll bet anything that it's going to be rejected within a few years. Wait until your older, when your body isn't growing as much and it will have more time to heal and adjust to a foreign object in your body.

I understand you already have 8 piercings, which is great, but you should definitely hold off on getting the tragus, helix, and the conch pierced until you're at least 16 or 17 only because you're still growing, which could cause shifting in the piercing, which will then cause scarring, and trust me that's something you definitely don't want. If you must go get it, though, go to a reputable, sterile, seasoned body piercer for it. I know in PA it's illegal for anyone under the age of 16 to get anything pierced other than the earlobes, and even at 16 you need a consenting parent present at the time of the piercing. Good luck in whatever you choose to do.
