Everyone has a purpose and is supposed to be here. We all offer something unique and necessary to the community at large. I don't know whose parents would ever tell their child something like that; but, that's a horrible thing to say to anyone, much less one's own child. As far as living through a tragedy where someone you feel may be more deserving of having lived through goes, well, I think one should assume that there is a reason that he/she was spared. And he/she should try to find out what that reason is and then live up to it. We are all meant to contribute to society for the better. Our purpose on earth is to provide for each other and show love to each other. We are meant to comfort each other. Anything less is pointless.

well im lucky to be alive, i was born 7 weeks early and had a problem when i was born so it was kind of touch and go, then i had to have an emergency operation when i was 18, i later found out i could have died. so i feel quite lucky to be here. oh yeah i stuck my finger in a plug socket when i was a baby aswell and made all the lights go dim so i was really lucky then. i didnt even get a shock.

Got to answer myself,... I believe we all have a time in their lives that something happens, not sure when would it happen or if it already has. We should be lucky and gratefull even if nothing happened and we should try to live as if nothing happened. That's hard I know, but you should give your best at life. You owe it to life and to yourself. Your history doesn't make you - only you could make you. All depends on how you take it and what you do to make the best of it

I feel that we all have a purpose and when you are involved in an accident, near death, and didn't die; then more likely you have not fulfulled your purpose. You purpose can be a small thing that you need to accomplish such as take care of an ill person, marry, have a child, or help a sick person. I would try to change my life and try to determine my purpose in life.

Well, I had a precedent once. But I don't think that means I shouldn't have lived. I do know, personally, several people who are too stupid to be alive, but somehow they managed to squeeze through. Where is the quality control on this planet, anyway.

I've already been informed of such by my father. Of whom he was most vehement that I was a mistake. It helped to make me the bastard I am now.
