"Like the ovaries (to which they are homologous), testicles are components of both the reproductive system (being gonads) and the endocrine system (being endocrine glands). The respective functions of the testicles are: - producing sperm (spermatozoa) - producing male sex hormones, of which testosterone is the best-known" Source and further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Testicles

For me, my testicles meant little. I had to have them removed because of a medical conditition not too long after I made it through puberty. It was interesting, and now I am comfortable with only my penis. I also had my scrotum removed. Yes, I am guaramteed sterile. Without testicles I can't produce sperm. After I was castrated, I said no to fakes. All I have is my penis, and I like it that way.

They produce male hormones and sperm that can get a woman pregnant. I had to have mine removed in 1985 because of a medical condition. I'm sterile, but can please a woman with what I have left. Yes, for those of you who are inquisitive I am castrated. I'm on hormone replacement, and still can perform as a man. I just can't get a woman pregnant because I'm sterile. There was a bit of humor involved. After I had my surgery a medical assistant she told me my sample had to be fresh. When I told her I had no testicles and expected to be sterile her tune changed. She came back and told me there were no sperm seen in my ejaculate. That was what I was looking for. I have had both testicles cut off and I expected to be sterile after masturbating for a month. After my castration I had to take horemone supplements. I'm still a man after 20 years withiut my balls.
