Yeah, not too sure if I like the open ending.

The ending was very realistic. Life goes on. Perhaps too many red herrings--Meadow's parking problems, the man at the counter going to mens room a la Godfather, the two blacks entering the restaurant. But this is life for Tony. He must expect danger at every movement in his area. and--life goes on. Little changes. Meadow will be a lawyer, AJ a wastrel, his wife still a living wife with doubts...

It was the only ending possible, and it was genius. It could not have been neatly tied up unless Tony had been killed, and it would have been a total injustice to the brilliance of the series if he had been killed. Sorry about the lateness of the reply. I just got around to watching it.
