Auntie Em explained it now - your window is very slow when going down? ok. I had that too. The car has been T-boned on both sides. The drivers window, although used rarely, was really working hard to go down and back up. Then it worked fine. Then it slowed down real bad, then it finally stopped altogether. I paid $250 and got a new motor installed. That fixed the problem. It's not really expensive when you think about it - 3 tank of gas? For the peace of mind of knowing it's going to work, it's worth the money. Your best bet for saving money is to go to a smaller shop. They do quality work (make sure there's a guarantee) and don't charge as much as the big chain shops. Hope this helps, Good luck

Thanks. I might have to relent and replace after all.
